We have forgotten who we are.

We did not forget because we were never powerful, or because the power was never ours. We forgot because we believed the lie that we have to rely on systems that were never built for us, depend on tables that were never set for us, and measure our worth by standards that were designed to keep us small. Somewhere in all of that, we lost the truth of who we really are.

Here is what I know to be true. We are powerful, sovereign, beautiful, and extraordinary women, and our people built the pyramids. That level of intelligence, creativity, and power lives in our DNA and it did not go anywhere. What is happening to us right now, collectively, as Black and Brown women, is not happening to us. It is happening for us, and something is being birthed from us right now that we may not even fully see in our lifetime.

The Trauma of Money Institute taught me that money is tied to safety and security. When we don’t get the promotion or raise we earned, that is financial trauma. When we spend years fighting for our rights in systems not built for us, watching our savings disappear in the process, and we come out the other side starting from zero, that is financial trauma. When we avoid looking at our finances, or find ourselves in a cycle of scarcity thinking no matter how much money we have, that is not a character flaw. That is our nervous system doing exactly what it was conditioned to do inside systems of oppression that were designed to keep us victimized.

Our healing begins with understanding our emotional responses to money. Here, we release the shame that was never ours to carry and come back into our bodies. We are grounded and unbothered here, not because the world outside has changed, but because we recall the vibration too high for oppression to reach, and the circumstances around us react to that instead of us reacting in fear of the circumstances.

Stand in your truth and your power, sisters. We are just getting started, it’s happening now.
